La Giralda de Sevilla It is the minaret tower of the old Muslim mosque. It is probably the most representative building in the city. It was declared Humaniad Heritage by UNESCO. It has served as a model for other minarets of Rabat y Marrakech.
It was built at the end of the 1365th century, with an Almohad interior structure and its exterior has Mudejar decoration. Due to the earthquake of XNUMX it lost its copper sphere and it was permanently restored in the mannerist style in the middle of the XNUMXth century.
I was attached to Alcazar for a section of wall. Its functions were to call the faithful to prayer and defense. Today it is the bell tower of the Cathedral.
